A Survey Research of Nursing Students¢¥ Consciousnesses in Comparison with Other College Students

Abstract
This survey research is an analysis of college-level nursing students¢¥ consciousnesses, compared to other college students¢¥ on cerning these matters: 1) personal life, 2) family life, 3) college life, 4) major course of study, 5) job or vocation, and 6) future prospect.
For the survey the following samplings were taken: 189 students in the highest year-grade, of Department of Nursing Science, Busan Medical College, and of the 4 technical nursing schools in the level of college, in Busan City, and, as a sampling for comparison, 151 senior female students of Busan University and Dong-A University.
The analyzed results, are summarized as these:
1)Personal Life
Almost all of either nursing students or other college students are shown as having much self-respect and great interests in everybody¢¥s own problems such as character, job, and marrage, but being more or less slow in decision.
It is identified nursing students are interested over three times more than other college students are in the things moral or religious.
2) Family Life
It is caught nursing students are inclined to be less satisfactory with their family lives than other college students, but their parents¢¥ expectancies for them are in the reverse.
3) College Life
nursing students are principally parting with their extracurricular hours to religious activities, while other college students to cultivational activities. But nursing students fail to take opportunities to make as good use of leisures as other college students.
This fact implies that nursing students first of all have a very short spare time due to too much training hours.
4) Major Course of Study
It is identified that either nursing students or other college students are rarely satisfied with their majors.
The highest rate of nursing students responds they may be able to live on their own self-supportings through their major study in college, while a relatively great number of other college students give a response that they may be able to take advantage of their studies for family life.
5) Job or Vocation
In choice attitude of job or vocation, it is shown that nursing students are more rational than other college students.
6) Future Prospect
Still more respondents of nursing students than other college students reply that set the future goal of life at personality perfection. Particulary high rate ofithem is in the hope of charitable works.
